Ellen Wachtel, Ph.D., author of We Love Each Other, But...
Even happily married couples can find useful tips in Wolf's no-nonsense and fun approach to marriage repair. I found myself laughing and nodding in understanding on many pages of the book.
Jean Trounstine, coauthor of Why I'm Still Married
An entertaining and refreshingly practical guide to living better in the only kind of marriage there isan imperfect one.
William Doherty, Ph.D., author of Take Back Your Marriage
Wolf is a Manhattan-based therapist (and former spokesperson for Viagra) who "applies the language of home repair to marital problems." She got the idea after buying her own fixer-upper home and began testing her new terminology on men, who seemed able to talk more easily about emotional matters in terms of tools and plumbing. Her clear, sensible advice goes all the way from "inspecting" the spouse to finishing touches or "decorating." The only flaw: It's written from a woman's point of view. But any guy who wants to refurbish a relationship will find this book a help.

Another relationship book is Sharyn Wolf's "This Old Spouse: A Do-It-Yourself Guide to Restoring, Renovating, and Rebuilding Your Relationship". Wolf, a Manhattan therapist, workshop leader and relationships expert, tells readers, "Spouses, like houses, are full of quirks and secrets that won't be revealed on your first or even fifth visit ... a woman can date a man for years, she can know his deepest fears, she can spend a week on a cruise alone with his mother, and she'll still be in for unexpected jolts after she and her partner get married."
June 3, 2007 summer reading recommendation by Dennie Hall for The Oklahoman
Throughout the book, the author gives details into other people's relationships. She offers sound advice on spicing up the sexual end of an established marriage. In all, I found the advice to be dead on and very worthwhile. ... Sharyn Wolf has many strong points.
